Military Payment Certificates, MPC, came in pastel colors. I recall standing in line to see a movie on Saturdays and folding MPC like origami. Cost fifteen cents to get in in 1965, and the matinee included popcorn, cartoon and a newsreel. Babysitting paid fifty cents an hour. The only thing that jingled in our pockets was yen.
